15th of September 1898

My Grandmother, Agnes Dorthea Persdaughter Ulvevadet Holter, would have been 116 years old today. She passed away far too early, 30th of September 1965.  This picture is taken in the backyard of The Holters house in Kaffegata, Flisa.

At Family Tree DNA I have managed to test my Grandmothers DNA.  This is her origins - from far far back in history and untill today. This is also my most distant maternal ancestors of my Family Finder matches. You see all the green spots?  That is "family"...

My Maternal line; first of all my mother born 1927, then my Grandmother from Nordre Osen, Åmot Agnes Dorthea Persdaughter Ulvevadet born 1898 - dead 1965.  My Great Grandmother Emilie Dorthea Dorthinusdaughter Ulvevadet born 1868 -  dead 1919.  She was born at Nordre Løsset in Åmot.  Her mother and my Great Great Grandmother Eli Engebretsdaughter Storaasen born 1843 - dead 1922. She also grew up in Nordre Osen.

This is The River Nordre Osa in Osdalen, Åmot

My Great Great Great Grandmother Kirsti Pedersdaughter born 1807 - dead 1893 grew up at Løssetosdalen in Nordre Osen, nearby Storaasen.  Her mother - my Great Great Great Great Grandmother Anne Engebretsdaughter born 1775 - dead 1856 grew up in Slettås, Trysil. Then Anne Persdaughter - my Great Great Great Great Great Grandmother - born 1743 - dead 1810 was born at Eltdalen in Trysil.
This is so far I know.  Well I do know that Anne Pedersdaughters mother is or was! Anne Olsdaughter and that she was married to Per Halvorsen in 1743.  And she is my Great Great Great Great Great Great Grandmother...so!

Enjoy life and enjoy yourself...Good Night!

FIFTY............FINALLY!!

Last Sunday I turned FIFTY! It is not depressing at all - actually it's a relief. Now I can consentrate on beeing in my fifties - not trying to avoid them. I did celebrate my birthday at Evja - my mothers country house. Here she is togheter with her grandson - my son - in the driveway wishing everybody welcome!

This bouquet I got from my co-workers and my boss - togheter with a beautiful shawl and some wonderful blue jewelry - Thank you so much - I just love it!

It was very cold and it was rain in the air - that's why we had a party tent - where is the summer - it's June!?! It was barbecue - bløtkake / layercake and pea soup on the menu. And lots of wool plaids - it was cold!

And the view - the marshy bay- this time from my brothers cabin - enjoy!

Today it's only 18 days untill our trip starts - the trip to The United States. We're driving straight to Central City in Colorado after Carson City in Nevada.
Sorry Utah - see you later - I have an appointment in Gilpin County. Her name is Lina - she is my Great Grandmothers - Emilie Dorthea Dorthinusdaughters - half sister.
And then it's over - just driving through Nebraska - Iowa and Illinois.
We have already started to plan our next trip to the promised land - driving from New York to the states in the south - like North Carolina and Tennessee................................
Thank you so much for visiting my blog - and enjoy life!

WEDNESDAY

Hello, this is my Great Grandmother Emilie Dorthea Dortinusdaughter, born March 26th in 1986 at Sjøli in Ytre Rendalen in Hedmark County. She grew up at Løsset in Rendalen where her single mother Eli Engebretsdaughter Storåsen worked as a milkmaid. I do not know - she probably did - if Emilie Dorthea ever knew about all her half sisters and half brothers?
Emilie Dortheas father was Dortinus Pedersen, he had 12 children with three different girls.
His oldest daughter is named Lina Dortinusdatter, born November 18th 1865 and she emigrated from Norway in May 1885 - destination The Promised Land. Lina married John, a Swedish guy and they settled in The State of Colorado where John worked as a Gold Miner. They had seven children - I think.
I have been looking - searching - digging for Lina and here family for over a year now. And nothing to find after the year of 1930.
Sometimes you are lucky and sometimes you are very lucky! And I am very very lucky girl!
Here did I find Linas Family! I am thrilled and exited about the new family in The USA - Welcome!
