The Second Sunday in Advent 2010

Hello - thank you so very much for all the nice comments on my Matchbox Calendar.  Finally I got hold of some coffe beans for The Advent Candleabra!  Is that the right word?  My Dictionary is very old.

Have a beautiful Advent - and do not forget to enjoy life...

The First Sunday in Advent 2010

Hello everybody- have a wonderful Advent - I have a feeling I'll have one - even though I'm still in winter lair!  But I've been scrapping!  I just love papercraft - scrapping and cardmaking and creative matchboxscrapping.  The first time a saw this Matchboxcalender by Tracie Hudson I just knew I had to make one - one day or two!

I've used paper from 3ndypapir - fantastic Norwegian paper.  Flowers from the drawer - metallcharmes from Unik Hobby - The Scrap Store in Hamar City!

I've painted the insidewalls! of all the 24 matchbox with white Pebeo High Viscosity Studioacryl - paper from Papirdesign on the matchboxfloor!

Diamond Glaze from Judi Kins has been with me the whole project!

The walls are made in Bazzil - just Bazzil!  And the rubonswords are from Cosmo Cricket

Snowflakes from Spellbinders - white snowpaint from Adirondack Rangers.  I've made snowflakes in shrink plastic - enjoyable - try it!

Stamp from Kort og Godt - love their stamps!

All my flowers are beige or white - theese I've colored with Tattered Angels  Glimmer Mist Tattered Leather

The Cinnamon did I buy in Moscow, Idaho, USA last summer!

I've used Diamond Glaze on the God Jul / Marry Christmas!

Thank you for dropping by - have a wonderful Advent - and do not forget to enjoy...

Another Sunday in October

This was meant for last Sunday - but time passes so fast I can't follw up all I want anymore.  I wish every day had some more hours - specially made for crafts and blogging!

This is an old picture and and an old layout of Rebekka Johansdaughter Holter.  She was born October 10th in 1905.  My Grand aunt Bekka was a Betanien nurse and she never married.  She passed away December 27th 1993 in Oslo.

Thank you for visiting my blog...and enjoy life!

Håndkjerrepionerene

Today Varg and I walked through Åkersvika Naturreservat towards Norsk Utvandrermuseum.  It's a small place with some old houses and a church brought to Norway from USA.  I'll tell more abot the houses and the church another time.  Today I want to show you Håndkjerrepionerene from Salt Lake City in Utah.

The main Håndkjerrepionerene / Handcart pioneers are placed at Temple Square in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA.  It's made by a Norwegian, Torleif S. Knaphus, who emigrated to The Promised Land in 1906.  The statue in Norway is a copy of the one he made in 1924.  The big one - the one on Temple Square was made in 1947.  I'm sorry we didn't have time visiting Salt Lake City last year - but I drove through The City - but next time...

If you ever have time to stop near Hamar and Utvandrermuseet - do it!

Pictures taken in April this year - enjoy your travel...
